2023 scholarship Application
2023 Scholarship is now open and accepting application. Application deadline is May 2nd, 2023.
The Schoolmen’s Club of Philadelphia is delighted to announce that the Scholarship Committee is accepting applications for three (3) deserving public high school seniors.
One of the scholarships is named for Bob Schiller, a long-term supporter of public education and the School District of Philadelphia. Under the auspices of the Schoolmen’s Club of Philadelphia and Lincoln Investment, the Bob Schiller
Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is currently enrolled at a School District of Philadelphia High School.
In total three scholarships of $1000.00 will be awarded to selected students based on the following criteria:

Scholarship Requirements:
- Students must demonstrate academic excellence and show evidence of progress over the last two years. Transcript must be included.
- Two letters of recommendation by either the principal, assistant principal, counselor or one of the student’s teachers should accompany all applications.
- An essay of 300 words describing a “turning point in his/her life” that has set him/her on the road to post high school education.
- Include a brief description of community service and/or evidence of volunteerism in the community (school, church, community, etc.)
- Evidence of the student’s intention to pursue a college education is required. (College acceptance letter, etc.)

2021 scholarship recipients
Congratulations to these Philadelphia high school seniors who overcame all obstacles and advanced to higher education admist the pandemic. Schoolmen's Club executive members were honored to present the scholarship to Emily Pond, Joshua Varghese, Sereina Williams on August 18, 2021. Wish all of you a great experience in college.
2020 scholarship recipient
COVID-19 didn't stop the Schoolmen's Club of Philadelphia from delivering the check to help a Philadelphia high school student to go to college!
Jermaine Wade is our scholarship recipient this year. He graduated from Frankford High School and will be attending Morehouse University. The Club executives presented him the check on Monday, August 10 at his house. He was extremely excited about receiving the check. Jermaine was so moved that he wants to one day turn around and be able to give back to a needy student.
2019 schoolmen's club scholarship winners
The Club awards $1,000 dollar scholarship to three students in Philadelphia public schools, who demonstrate execllence in academic and are college-bound. Applications are accepted at the beginning of every year.
